“Rytas” gets hard-fought win in the final of King Mindaugas Cup

“Rytas” Vilnius win the final and become champions of “Kidy Tour” King Mindaugas Cup following win 70:67 (13:11, 17:24, 13:16, 27:16) against “Žalgiris” Kaunas at “Siemens” arena. 

“Žalgiris” maintain the lead for the main part of the game but at the end “Rytas” played very well. Point guard Rok Sipčevič made three three-pointers at the fourth quarter and bring “Rytas” back at the game. 

Eimantas Bendžius made last seconds three-point shot with one minute left to play and “Rytas” were leading 66-62.

After Chris Kramer free-throws “Rytas” were leading by three points with 3 seconds left for last “Zalgiris” possession which wasn’t successful and Vilnius club won 70:67 and lift the trophy.

“Rytas” head coach Dainius Adomaitis after victory in the final said:

“I would like to thank my players. They prepared for the tournament very well. I’m very happy that we make everything that we planned to do. I’m happy because of the team, of the club and all the people in “Rytas” who worked hard to win this trophy.”
