Rytas adds Benedek Varadi
10 seasons. That's how long the new Rytas Vilnius guard played in the same team before. Benedek Varadi was one of Falco Szombathely leaders and now he is coming to Lithuania.
The people of Vilnius probably already know the former 27-year-old captain of Falco, who was born in Szombathely. Last season Varadi fought with Rytas in the TOP 16 stage of the FIBA Champions League and in the last game against Rytas he was close to a triple double. The Hungarian scored 15 points, made 9 assists and grabbed 7 rebounds.
"Benedek has experience in the Champions League and played successfully in Hungary. From the very first conversations, he showed great desire and enthusiasm to defend our team's colors. He's a guy with a good and calm character, but at the same time he's a real warrior who can die on the court," said Georgios Dedas, Rytas assistant coach.
