Lietuvos Rytas needed two overtimes to overcome a heroic challenge from Siauliai in arguably the most exciting game of the season in the Betsafe LKL, inscribing a 103-98 win on Sunday in Vilnius.

The home side seemed well on their way to a convincing win after going up 47-32 after the first two quarters, but an inspired fourth-quarter fightback brought things level at the end of regulation.

If anything, Siauliai looked like the more likely winners in the two extra periods, but the Travis Peterson-led pre-game favorites from the capital managed to tip the scales their way after 50 minutes of basketball.

Peterson finished the game with a 18-point and 14-rebound double-double, with Jimmy Baron and Rokas Giedraitis scoring 21 points and 15 points, respectively for Lietuvos Rytas.

Meanwhile, Omar Prewitt had a career night for Siauliai with 29 points and 5 assists on 11-of-19 shooting from the field, while fellow American forward Akeem Wright chipped in with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals.

Third-placed Lietuvos Rytas improved to an 11-4 mark in the Betsafe LKL standings, while Siauliai, with an inverse 4-11 record, share the bottom of the table with Nevezis and Vytautas (Source: lkl.lt).
