This season BC "Lietuvos rytas" continues to work with "One Team". One of the participants - talented deaf players which are coached by well known specialists that also won a couple of Olympic medals.

Gediminas Zukas, Lukas Laurinaitis and Janis Skakun - all talented coaches that won a bunch of medals at the Deaflympics, European and World championships.

"I am very happy that we are a part of "One Team" project. It's fun to play basketball at the "Lietuvos rytas" arena. This will be a very valuable experience for our young players."

"I started to play basketball when I was 13 in Siauliai. My biggest trophies are the first place in Deaflympics and second place in European and World championships." said G.Zukas.

All the coaches that work on the "One Team" project try to share their experience with the young guys.

"This year in the Deaflympics quarterfinals we were down by 21 points in the first quarter. We managed to win that game, advance further and win the gold medals." remebered G.Zukas.

J.Skakun already finished his professional career and his love for basketball was born while seeing BC "Statyba" play "Zalgiris" Kaunas.

Now his work with kids is much easier because he won a lot of international competitions. J.Skakun won 4 gold medals which include European, World championships and Deaflympics.

"One Team" project is helping young kids to improve and I want to say thanks to the organisers. I won a couple of medals so it's definately easier to work with children. Training is easy because the players always listen to my suggestions." said J.Skakun.

L.Laurinaitis was happy that this year his dream came true and he played in the Deaflympics for the first time and won the gold medal. His main focus now is that the young players learn from the veterans and later play in the Deaflympics themselves.

"I am very happy that we won the gold in Deaflympics. Now I am trying to teach the kids what it takes to win it big."

"Invitation to "One Team" project was a surprise for us but we are very humbled by it. It was very nice to watch BC "Lietuvos rytas" play in "Siemens Arena". I hope that the organisers and the participants continue to make our country proud." said L.Laurinaitis.
